"Like the difference between a Yugo and a BMW" Chances are that the bike you are currently riding is a relic of the days when mountain bikes were made solely for climbing. You are hunched over and your hands hurt almost as much as your ass. It's time to take a look at a new paradigm that embraces the joy of biking everywhere- not just up a wall. The comfort conversion is the ultimate arrangement of stem and handlebars in terms of all around comfort and performance. Originally made for motorized dirt bikes and enduros, KSA Racing has taken the bend in and reduced the width of it's 4" rise bars for bicycles. Imagine you are riding a cruiser that you can drop straight off the street into a vertical rock pile. The upright position actually achieves improved performance and control because the bars sit closer to the steerer tube and the rider isn't hunched over the front of the bike. This setup fits most newer bikes with 1-1/8" threadless steerer tubes because riders can simply replace their mountain bike stem with a BMX stem. The arrangement above has about 2" of spacers on the steerer tube for an even more upright position. More: info@bicycle-power.com |
